Selection Procedure
For Sub Inspectors (SI) the recruitment is done in a three-step process.
- The first step is a written exam the candidates must have to clear.
- The second step is a physical exam and skill exam is conducted for the candidates.
- Finally, the candidates those who are passed the written exam and physical exam are called for the personal interview.
For Police Constables, only written test and a physical test is carried out.Based on the rank list prepared by the Kerala Public Service Commission the selected candidates are appointed.

Age Qualification
The age limits for the applying candidates are:
Men: For male candidates, age must be in between 18years to 28 years.
Women: For female candidates, age must be in between 18 years to 28 years.
Educational Qualification
As per the Kerala Police Constable Notification 2019, the candidates must be completed their 10th and 12th from any board or university. Only qualified candidates are eligible to apply for the posts.
Physical qualification
For Male candidates:
Height limit for the applying male candidates is,
- 168cm for general male candidates
- 160cm for ST male candidates
The Chest measurement for the male candidates is 81cm for OBC and SC candidates without expansion and 86cm with expansion. For ST candidates there is 5cm relaxation in the measurements.
For Female candidates
Height limit for the female candidates is 158cm and above.
Steps to apply for Kerala Police Constable
After getting Kerala Police Constable Notification 2021 and before going to apply the candidates must ensure that they fit for all the eligibilities specified. The eligible and interested candidates can apply for the post by the following procedure:
